So once upon a time, I had this friend who was from a hardcore religious background, and one day, while he was getting ready to head out, I was talking to his little brother about stuff, and his toy dinosaur, and I am not sure how we got there, but he expressed to me this same point of view (except that the teeth were used to shred trees, but I suppose it’s the same thing to a 9 year old) and later I was talking to my friend
“Yo, so I was talking to your brother, and he believes that T-Rex was a vegetarian because they were before the great flood, and they used their teeth to shred trees?”
“Yeah man”
“Where the fuck’d he learn that?”
“My parents, that’s what they believe too”
so yeah, that happened…

I love everything about language and I love the way it completely shapes our lives whether people realize it or not and I love that you can use words and phrases and syllables to express anything from what the moon looks like tonight to what someone means to you and I love that sometimes hearing a poem or even just a line or a couple of words that make it seem like someone has once felt the way you feel right now can make you feel so much less alone in this world
language is fantastic, and I believe what makes us human
